Series: Famous Places in the Eastern Capital Publishr: Kichibei Fine impression, color and condition. There are only two early Kuniyoshi landscape series: The Eastern Capital (1833), and Toto Meisho (1834). These series are revolutionary in that they implement several western art principles and devices in order to show the daily life in and around Edo. Kuniyoshi’s landscape series precedes Hiroshige’s most famous landmark series and magnum opus, 100 Views of Edo.
