Series: Ten (10) Warriors of Amago Publisher: Sanyo-ya Tomigoro Fine impression, color and condition. Rare. Only 2 designs of this series are known. Killing this wild boar in a wooded ravine by a stream was how this young boy got his name. Furu-i means old Boar and O-tani means big ravine. Otani Furuinosuke or Koinosuke, lost his father and had to care for his aged mother on his own. He had extraordinary strength and became a woodcutter when he grew older. When he was fifteen, he captured a wild boar that hunters could not bring down with their arrows, and used his bare hands to crush its skull. He appears in several other Kuniyohi prints, several of them being in the Honcho Suikoden (800 Heroes of the Water Margin)
